The continuum of care,
finally on one timeline.

Youth athletes cross five handoffs between a knee injury and a real return — and the record fragments at every one. Better Athlete holds the thread: a pre-injury baseline, structured screening that refers safely, rehab milestones anchored to the athlete's own normal, and the post-discharge training months made visible. Clinical decisions stay where they belong: with you.

One continuum, both directions
The continuum of care: healthy, warning, into care, in care, return — she moves both ways and her record goes with her.
The same continuum language on every timeline you see below — a rising Shift routes into care with its history attached, and comes back out the same way.

Six stages, one record

1 · Pre-injury

The baseline nobody else has

Movement screening, strength context, and history — captured while the athlete is healthy. When an injury happens, you are not reconstructing "normal" from memory or the other limb alone.

2 · Injury

Context arrives with the patient

Mechanism, laterality, sport exposure, and the pre-injury record — organized before the first visit, with the family already oriented to the process.

3 · Surgery

The episode starts documented

Procedure, graft, and concomitant work recorded once, structured — not buried in a PDF. Milestone testing is scheduled from day one.

4 · Rehab

PT progress with objective anchors

Standardized reassessment at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months against the athlete’s own pre-injury baseline. Home-program adherence measured, not assumed.

5 · Training

The gap nobody owns — covered

Between PT discharge and true return-to-performance, most athletes disappear. Here they stay on a structured, monitored progression, and you can see it.

6 · Return

Return as a continuum, not a date

Return to participation, sport, and performance tracked as distinct states — with the criteria and the clinician’s decision preserved. The decision is always yours.

Built for the people who carry the clinical risk

Physical Therapists

Qualified, documented inbound

Referred families arrive with a structured screening record — history, symptoms context, movement findings, and the reason for referral. Your evaluation starts ahead, not from zero.

Orthopedic Surgeons

The whole arc, not snapshots

Pre-injury baseline through post-op milestones on one timeline. See how your patients actually progress after they leave your clinic — including the training months no one reports back on.

Sports Medicine MDs

A prevention layer that refers safely

Symptomatic or flagged athletes are routed to licensed care — never scored past a red flag, never told to train through symptoms. The platform recommends professional review; it never replaces it.

What we claim — and what we deliberately don't

Screening, not prediction

We identify modifiable risk factors and measure change. We do not predict who will be injured, and we do not diagnose. The literature does not support single-screen prediction — so we do not claim it.

Every number is traceable

Each metric in a report traces to a specific trial, device, protocol version, and algorithm version. Nothing is a black box; a clinician can always see the basis for a finding.

Deterministic, human-governed

Scoring is rule-based and versioned — no generative AI in the safety path. Red flags suppress scoring and route to licensed care. Overrides are clinician actions, recorded as such.

Flat fees. Never per-referral.

Network membership is a flat technology fee tiered by practice size. No referral commissions, no percentage of procedures or reimbursement — a structure your compliance office can approve.

Better Athlete is a training-intelligence service, not a medical device. It delivers and monitors neuromuscular training protocols for which there is evidence of reduced injury risk when they are actually completed at dose. It does not diagnose conditions, predict injuries, or clear athletes to play. Findings are banded screening signals intended to support — never replace — the judgment of licensed professionals.
